How We Work

Better decisions start with better visibility.

We help leadership teams understand what's actually driving performance — across marketing, finance, operations, and leadership — so you can act on what matters most.

Our Approach

Most businesses don't have a revenue problem; they have a visibility problem.

Marketing reports say one thing. Financial statements say another. Operational teams experience something entirely different. Our job is to connect those pieces so you can make decisions with confidence.

Our Framework

How We Evaluate Business Performance

Growing businesses generate information from every direction, and with more data, comes more questions. At JM Clarity, our expertise lies in knowing what to ignore, where to dig deeper, and where to look next. The challenge isn't collecting more data, it's understanding how the pieces fit together.

We help leadership teams create visibility across four critical areas of the business.

01

Marketing

How demand is created
  • Customer acquisition
  • Cohort analysis
  • Marketing strategy
  • Revenue attribution and retention

Identifying where growth originates and which activities are actually influencing results.

02

Finance

How value is measured
  • Revenue quality
  • Profitability
  • Cash flow
  • Financial performance

Evaluating whether growth is strengthening the business or simply creating more activity, and how actual performance compares to plan.

03

Operations

How results are delivered
  • Processes
  • Capacity
  • Resource allocation
  • Execution efficiency

Measuring how effectively the business converts effort into outcomes.

04

Leadership

How decisions are made
  • Reporting
  • Planning
  • Prioritization
  • Strategic direction

Clarifying which metrics deserve attention and which decisions will create the greatest impact.

When these four systems are aligned, growth becomes easier to understand, opportunities become easier to identify, and decisions become easier to make.

Step 01

We Start With Reality

Before discussing strategy, we focus on understanding what is actually happening inside the business.

That means reviewing the reports, systems, assumptions, and metrics leadership relies on every day.

We're looking for disconnects between:

  • Reported performance and actual revenue
  • Revenue and profitability
  • Growth and cash flow
  • Activity and outcomes
Step 02

We Prioritize What Matters

Once we understand how the business is performing, we identify the small number of issues most likely to improve growth, profitability, or decision-making.

Rather than creating a long list of ideas, we focus on the opportunities with the greatest potential impact.

Because clarity isn't about doing more. It's about knowing what matters most.

Step 03

We Turn Insights Into Action

Every engagement concludes with practical recommendations tied to specific business outcomes.

You'll understand:

  • What deserves attention
  • What can wait
  • What is creating risk
  • What is creating opportunity
  • What to do next

Our goal is to help leadership teams move forward with confidence, not overwhelm them with complexity.

Common Questions

The five we hear most.

If your question isn't here, the working session is the best place to ask it. You'll get an honest answer in the first ten minutes.

Executives at companies between 10 and 500 people, and owner-operators of established small businesses. About half our clients are first-time CEOs; the other half are seasoned leaders who want a sharper second voice.

We say so, on the same call. About one in four inquiries doesn't become an engagement, and we usually have a referral to someone better suited.

We've found scaled pricing creates the wrong incentives—for us and for you. We prefer a flat, hourly rate for all clients. The average engagement costs $150/hour, and most engagements require between 20 and 40 hours of work. We can give a more specific estimate after the working session.

Consultancies sell decks. Coaches sell self-reflection. We sit closer to a strong chief of staff: in the room, opinionated, with a track record of running the same work ourselves.

Always. The default is that everything you share stays in the room. We keep no client list public, and we don't ghostwrite social posts for our work.

Get Started

Every engagement starts with a conversation.

Before recommending an audit, advisory engagement, or project work, we take time to understand your business, your reporting, and the challenges you're facing.

We'll discuss what's working, what's unclear, and whether there are opportunities worth exploring further.

If we're a good fit, we'll outline potential next steps. If not, we'll do our best to point you in the right direction.
